Regents Examination in
Physical Setting/Earth Science

Chinese Edition Only

This notice pertains to the scoring of Part A, question 5, of the Chinese edition only of the Regents Examination in Physical Setting/Earth Science. 

For question 5 of the Chinese edition, the word “transpiration” is translated imprecisely and could be understood to mean “evaporation.”  Accordingly, all students who used the Chinese edition, either exclusively or in conjunction with the English edition, and who selected choice 4 should be given credit.  Those students who selected choice 3, the choice given as the correct answer on the scoring key, should also be given credit.

Please photocopy this notice and give a copy of it to each teacher scoring the Chinese edition of this examination.
