Data Refresh Cycle (updated August 5, 2009)

All data must be submitted by Level 1 Data Center Operators to the Level 2 Statewide data warehouse by 11:59 p.m. each Friday. These once-weekly data refreshes will be reflected in nySTART reports on the following Tuesday, and in Special Education PD Data System reports the following Wednesday. nySTART Reports for 2008-09 School Year will not be refreshed after the Friday, July 31st, 2009 refresh cycle (see 8/5/2009 note - below, under Exceptions heading - concerning the final 2008-09 refresh).
Final verification reports will be available on nySTART to authorized account-holders on Tuesday, August 4th; final pre-AORs will be available on Thursday, August 6th (see Scheduled Releases and Maintenance for details). Be sure to download copies of any final nySTART reports you wish to retain. Final reports will be available on the Special Education PD System on Wednesday, August 5th.
Districts, non-public and charter schools must submit data to their Level 1 Center by local Level 1 deadlines. Local Level 1 deadlines are earlier than the Level 2 deadline in order to give Level 1 Operators sufficient time to process and load data prior to the Level 2 deadline. Schools and districts should consult with their Level 1 data center for regional/local deadlines.
Exceptions to regular data refresh cycle:
August 5, 2009: Following the FINAL load to Level 2 (7/31/2009) and release of each set of nySTART reports (8/4/2009 for VRs; 8/6/2009 for final pre-AORs), no further nySTART report updates will be provided via until 2009-10 School Year reporting begins.
nySTART report links will not be disabled after final release (as previously posted here). Instead, reports will remain available in a "temporarily frozen" state and, instead, weekly Level 2 data refreshes are temporarily suspended until the student data warehouse is ready to accept 2009-10 School Year data. When dates for resuming data loads to Level 2 become available, these will be posted here.
Special education enrollment and programs data loads are also suspended, but select data (such as select outcomes and events) may be loaded to support ongoing reporting needs of the PD System. Please see VESID's SEDCAR data collection web pages for details (and look for two schedules under 'Data Submitted Through SIRS' noting due dates for VR-10 through VR-15).
May 8, 2009: 11:59 PM weekend data refresh initiated as expected, but completion delayed 24 hours. Data received at Level 2 by 11:59 PM, 5/8/2009, not reflected in nySTART reports until 6 AM Wednesday, 5/13/2009 (and SEDCAR PD reports on Thursday, 5/14/2009).
